Below you will find my education and relevant clinical experience so far. I graduated from UC Davis in 2016 with a BS in biochemistry and a BA in physical anthropology. Following an unsuccessful medical school application cycle, I started at Georgetown University where I graduated as part of the SMP Class of 2017. The year I spent in Washington D.C. was one of the most influential periods of my life and it made me all the more determined to get into medical school. So here I am in Utah excited to be in medical school and getting ready for the next step!
A 4 year Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Program in southern Utah.
I attended Georgetown University's Special Master’s Program which has an integrated medical curriculum that includes biochemistry, physiology, microanatomy (histology), and embryology.
I attended UC Davis and Majored in Biochemisitry and Molecular Biology with an additional major in Anthropology.
Mira Loma High School is a IB public high school located in Carmichael, California.
Medical Scribe in a level 2 Trauma ER. Took real time notes on multiple patients with multiple attendings while attending codes and traumas as a scribe.
Summer Internship in Mongolia, observed procedures such as open heart surgery.
Summer Internship working with the cardiac team at King's College Hospital in London. We analyzed the effects the possible effects of statins in a retrospective study using patient data from the previous 5 years at the Cardiac clinic.
Along with two other students, we have researched the effects of oral microbiome on the skin by engaging in all steps of research from establishing a question, background research, testing and getting IRB approval, and applying for grant approval. While the research is in its infancy, We are very excited about the pilot study results that they are currently analyzing.
Sharing knowledge and helping others is something I truly enjoy. I have been through their situation and I am empactic to that and I believe that If a small amount of my time of sharing my experience and knowledge can ease their struggles significantly, it is truly satisfying to be the reason they are able to succeed.
I cofounded the AWS organization at my school as I wanted to create a space where women could join together to discuss and plan for future careers in surgery.
I took on the role of being the Red Cross RVU Blood drive Director. I was tasked with organizing and coordinating blood drives and to further increase the number of donations for my site. I am very proud of my accomplishments in this role as I managed to surpass the previous record of donations on multiple occassions through my persistent efforts.
